The Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA) will organise a 10K Digithon 2016 on October 2, honouring the father of the nation of India on Gandhi Jayanthi. The event will mobilize volunteers to provide basic digital education to nearly 10,000 digitally illiterate around suburban, urban and rural areas of Hyderabad.
About 1,000 volunteers in Hyderabad will each educate 10 underprivileged beneficiaries on how to navigate a computer, tablet, smart phone, internet and also browsing Basics (i.e. launch and navigation on a browser to generic websites like Google etc…). The volunteers will also create email IDs and digital lockers for each beneficiary. “Besides, the volunteers will demonstrate mGovernance mobile application like My GHMC. All the digital volunteers who train 10 people will receive a participation certificate, T-shirt and a Bag pack," said Sundeep Kumar Makthala, Founder & President, TITA. More than 200 social media profile pics were already changed with 10K Digithon theme to support this cause.
For digital volunteers, registration for the programme can be done using the link http://goo.gl/EAm4PX (Digital Volunteer Enrollment Form). For registration of 10 beneficiaries, the link https://goo.gl/VPjaCl (Student Registration Form) can be used.
