An inspiring note and call to action from Christopher Wood at LGBT Technology Partnership & Institute:

Dear Friends,

We have set high expectations for 2016, which we have named “The Year of Connectivity.” We will continue to be at the forefront of all policy issues affecting the LGBT Community while expanding programs such as Connect4Life.

As the new year begins, we are looking to give more homeless LGBT youth an opportunity to be connected using technology. To accomplish this goal, we are planning to expand the Connect4Life program in a couple of big ways. The Beta test in Washington, D.C. has allowed us to begin to understand what works and what doesn't. Early results in D.C. have proven a simple but important fact though - Technology in the hands of these LGBT youth is vital and clearly helps them to be successful as they navigate their day-to-day lives. Whether they use a phone to stay in touch with family and friends, call about employment, medical care or even to search for answers to unknown questions – it matters and is a simple piece of life changing technology for each of those young people.

It is with excitement and gratitude that we announce that we will be expanding the Connect4Life program to additional cities and expanding the type of technology being collected and distributed. We are definitely not doing this alone, so please keep your eyes open in the coming weeks as we announce additional partners, cities and program opportunities.

What can you do to help? I'm glad you asked! Donate your old technology - Desktops, Laptops, Cell Phones (Flip or Smart), Servers, Hard Drives - if it computes 1s and 0s, we can probably refurbish, reuse or recycle that device. The best part, your donation is tax deductible.

We sincerely hope we have your continued support and look forward to another great year of making a difference in the LGBT Community.

Sincerely,
Christopher Wood
Executive Director
